Utah State quirks that apply
- USU sits at ~4,700ft — even fit students get winded the first week, and you sunburn fast.
- Cache Valley winters routinely hit 0°F with deep snow; a real insulated coat and snow boots are non-negotiable by November.
- Logan suffers some of the worst winter inversions in the US — air quality alerts are common Dec–Feb, so an N95 mask or HEPA-style room filter actually matters.
- Most first-year halls require a meal plan, even apartment-style ones in the LLC.
- Candle warmers (Scentsy is a Utah company, ironically) are explicitly banned — leave them home.
- Aggie Shuttle and bus access drive hall choice; LLC, Canyon Crest, and Richards/Bullen all have direct routes to lower campus.
